All keywords disappeared?

Hello there,

I just realized that suddenly all my keywords simply have disappeared in Bridge CS4.

1) how could that happen?

2) how can I retrieve them?

I've had a huge tree and, needless to say, thousands of pictures that I didn't sort by file anymore but by practical keywords. How is this possible???
