Hi there,
I use CS4 extended. I use bridge for my Raw work. Sometimes (Approx 50%) when I open bridge from the taskbar I find that aero crashes and it changes to compatability mode. I can use the computer and Bridge fine. If I shut Bridge when finished and also exit it from the taskbar I find Aero returns. My video card is a Nvidia GTX260 running 2 monitors. I have the latest drivers for Win7 Ult 64bit, Latest Nvidia drivers and all patches applied.
I initially thought it was Win7 so a MS moderator in one one their forums assisted me but to no avail. In the end they suggested to try the Adobe forums.
A thread in the photoshop forums suggested turning off Software rendering in the Bridge Preferences although that person was using an ATI card and drivers. I did this and it seemed ok for a day. However, the dreaded problem has returned with software rendering enabled so it seems that doesn't address the issue. It seems to me that if I have to turn on software rendering I would lose performance. My understanding is that by doing the rendering via hardware it is a lot quicker. Is this correct? Surely there must be a problem with Bridge somewhere if this problem occurs with both Nvidia and ATI drivers? Is this a simplistic view? Any assistance in resolving this is appreciated.
Cheers
