I've just installed the Master Collection suite and all is well, except, I have a 2 monitor setup and I like to have Bridge on the second monitor to see my images and such while working. Sad thing is, I can barely use Bridge CS5 as it is sooo slow. Simply clicking on the 'File' menu of the menu bar takes a full 12 seconds before the menu drops down, then all the menus work fine, until I select an option from the menus, such as 'Save File'; that took over 45 seconds to actually open the file dialogue box. Forget about browsing folders, that took over 5 minutes to just decide to switch to the new view. I don't have a slouch machine either. It is a Windows 7 Professional 64bit on a Dual Quad-Xeon system with 12 gigs of Ram and a Nvidia 8800GTS video card. Every part of Bridge CS5 works this way, I even installed the *update* it called for, but that didnt produce any benefits to this situation, unfortunately.
I generally have good luck with Adobe tools, but this one has me stumped. CS4 is still installed and works just fine; every operation is nearly instant (if not instant!), so I'll use that in the meantime, but I'd like to have Bridge CS5 working the way its supposed to.
Thanks--
PS I read a couple posts re: the problem that said, let it builds its cache. I left it open for hours and hours, this didnt make a difference, its as slow as when I first opened it.
