I used WinDirStat to find out what was eating up my harddrive space. It showed me that I had 64.2 gig in my bridge cache. Specifically the 1024 and 256 folders. I tried to purge the cache from bridge preferences and it keeps freezing up. This might be because there is 1710 folders in just the 1024 folder. I also tried to compact the cache figuring it would delete some of the thumbnails because they are no longer available but nothing really happened.
What is the right thing to do here? I would like to delete all the folders directly from the 256 and 1024 folders instead of trying to do it in Bridge preferrences. Then just start rebuilding thumbnails as needed. Is this a wise thing to do or will there be repercussions?
How should bridge prefferences be set to avoid this in the future? I have it set on Automatically export cache to folders when possible and cache size is now 10,000 it was higher maybe at 50,000.
